Here at Tee Talent, we are gearing up for a very exciting event happening next week. On March 15th, we are going to the Dragon’s Den auditions in Guelph, Ontario to pitch our business! For those of you who are not familiar with this concept, Dragon’s Den is a Canadian TV show where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their businesses concepts to a panel of Canadian business moguls (CBC, 2017).
If you’ve seen the show before, I’m sure you’ve witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly. The panel of judges can be ruthless, however, they have the cash, connections, and knowledge to help us achieve our vision for the company. We want to show the judges that a social enterprise can be a profitable business.
We are starting to get a little anxious not because we aren’t prepared, but because we are excited to share our story, and are confident that the judges will be inspired by our mission of making a more inclusive society. Since this is the preliminary auditions, we really want to promote our story and highlight the fact that not only are we working towards hiring people with disabilities, but our co-founders have disabilities themselves, knowing first-hand the barriers differently abled bodies face while finding employment.
With the combination of our practical business model, and our story we have a good feeling about the auditions next week. We will be posting photos on our social media of the event and will keep you posted on what happens that day. Wish us luck!
