T-Shirts made of plastic bottles

August 18, 2017

At the same time that plastic bottles are very convenient, they are also a huge problem for the environment. There are 50 billion water bottles consumed every year in the world. 1,500 water bottles consumed per SECOND in the U.S. only. There are basically two ways to reduce the negative impact caused by plastic bottles: not using them at all or, if we decide to use, recycle them.

Turns out that recycled plastic bottles can be transformed into totally different products. Some companies saw recycling as an opportunity to help to save the environment, promote their brand and make some big money. The fashion industry, for example, is using the fabric polyester fibers from the recycled plastic bottles (PET) on the development of new products . Nike, for instance, has some products using this approach to lower environmental impact. In 2016, Adidas released its shoes made of recycled plastic from oceans.

Now imagine if you could wear a t-shirt that helps to keep the environment free of plastic bottles? This is possible. Tee Talent Inc has partnered with Mr. Fly, a manufacturer from Brazil that produces t-shirts made of 50% of recycled plastic bottles and 50% cotton. For each t-shirt made by Mr. Fly, two plastic bottles are used. This process also is an opportunity for workers that collect plastic bottles that are often discarded on the beach and on the streets of Brazil. We can't forget to mention that the t-shirts are very comfortable and are available in different colours.

Did you like the idea? Would you like to have Mr. Fly's t-shirts to give away to your employees? Please get in touch with us and we will be more than glad to assist you on that!
