Client in Focus: Disability Tax Results

June 23, 2018

We would like to welcome Disability Tax Results as our new client. Tee Talent made 400 customized pens for the company. They are a Canadian owned and operated business who have learned from their own experiences and applied their knowledge in order to help those with disabilities and their families simplify the tax credit process. We had a quick interview with Peter Curtis, owner of Disability Tax Results.

In 2016 Peter re-branded his paralegal firm to Disability Tax Results to reflect the area of specialty. Peter's significant experience providing legal based medical representation has helped to ensure a high success rate. As an advocate for persons with disabilities, Peter Curtis and Disability Tax Results have won several awards recognizing efforts to assist those with medical issues find employment. Check out his interview.

1. What are the services provided by Disabilities Tax Results?

We provide representation through the Disability Tax Credit process. This includes appeals and consultations with client's doctors if needed.

2. What are the financial benefits available for people with disabilities?

The financial benefits include access to a number of credits that may result in refunds of past income taxes, a lower tax burden in future years, as well as access to the Registered Disability Savings Plan. Client may get refunds into the thousands of dollars.

3. What are the advantages of having a RDSP account?

The advantages of having an RDSP is comparable to having an RSP in that it is a long term savings account where the government will make contributions. It is the best government financial plan for individuals that I know of.

4. Who is eligible for disability tax credit?

Anyone with a medical issue may become eligible. Your symptoms must be present at least 90% of the time and have been present, or will be present for 12 months or more. While the diagnosis is important, eligibility is more based of severity and consistency of symptoms than the diagnosis.

5. How people can access your services?

People can access my services by calling and scheduling a free consultation, or by completing an website submission review.
